CARVERS
IN MEMORY OF SCOTTIE "RYAN" HILL
April 10, 1975 – May 31, 2025
Ryan Hill, aged 50, passed away at home with his beloved wife Corrine (Johnson), whom he shared seven beautiful years of marriage with 25 cherished years together. Devoted father to Hannah Adele Hill (Hawenaedas Thomas), Scottie Navan Hill and Kateri Loni Hill. Loving grandfather to four grandchildren Violet and Cassius Patterson, River and Willow Thomas.
Ryan is survived by parents Scottie C. Hill and Shirley M. Hill (Vyse). He leaves behind two brothers, Nolan and Howard Hill (Emmy); and five sisters, Jackie, Jill (Rob), Kristine (aka Kitty), Nickie and Shyanna. Cherished by his many In-Laws, Aunts, Uncles, Nieces and Nephews.
He graduated from Cornwall Career College as a hardware technician.
He was passionate about his heritage, and his actions represented his pride. He was a leader who carried a vision of seeing the confederacy regain its strength and back to the old ways through learning as much as he could and political activism as he worked to fulfill his duties as Hiawatha’s subchief (Mohawk Turtle).
Ryan was a talented chainsaw carver on wood and ice, with a heart of gold! Many times, he would travel to Clinton County to work on projects and participate in carving events like Hooskow along with the Ridgeway Rendezvous, Waterville Fireman’s Sawdust Fest and numerous others.
Ryan was an easy guy to love! His sense of humor, warm smile and always remembering funny things others said, just to repeat it when things were down, to make all smile. He had many carving friends, but his work and easy-going personality attracted many others. He was particularly close to Jeffery Donoughe, with whom he carved a lot. Their personalities were quite different, but their passion, ambition and values were one in the same!
Ryans passion for chainsaw carving will truly live on through the many chainsaw carvers he had encouraged, guided, mentored and became family with.
R.I.P Ryan
